National Disaster Management Authority

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), headed by the Prime Minister of India, is the Apex Body for Disaster Management in India. The setting up of the NDMA and the creation of an enabling environment for institutional mechanisms at the State and District levels is mandated by the Disaster Management Act, 2005.


The Border Security Force (BSF) is a border patrol agency of the Government of India. Established on December 1, 1965, it is one of the Central Armed Police Forces.the BSF is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It is one of the many law enforcement agencies of India.

Orissa State Disaster Management Authority

Orissa State Disaster Mitigation Authority (OSDMA) was set up by the Government of Orissa as an autonomous organization vide Finance Department Resolution No. IFC- 74/99-51779/F dated the 28th December 1999.

Rajasthan Police

The Rajasthan Police is the law enforcement agency for the state of Rajasthan in India. The Rajasthan Police has its headquarters in Jaipur, the state capital. The motto of the force is "Sevarth Katibaddhta", which means "Committed to serve".

National Cadet Corps

The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its Headquarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.

INS Shivaji

The Establishment INS Shivaji is the Marine Engineering training establishment of the Navy. The surrounding hills and valleys have remained mute witnesses to the illustrious voyage of this ship with its commissioning on 15 Feb 1945.

Indian Coast Guard

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is a branch of the Indian Armed Forces. Its mission is the protection of India's maritime interests and maritime law enforcement with jurisdiction over both territorial and international waters.

Indian Army

The Indian Army (IA) is the land based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. With about 1,100,000 soldiers in active service and about 1,150,000 reserve troops, the Indian Army is the world's largest standing volunteer army. Its primary mission is to ensure the national security and defence of the Republic of India from external aggression and threats, and maintaining peace and security within its borders.

Indian Navy

The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the armed forces of India. The President of India serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), usually a four-star officer in the rank of Admiral, commands the Navy.


Municipal Authorities

New Delhi Municipal Council

Delhi Set-up had recommended that a fresh law governing NDMC should be passed by the Parliament for proper organization and functioning of the New Delhi Municipal Council. Consequent upon enforcement of Constitution (Seventy Fourth Amendment) Act, several provisions in Punjab Municipal Act, 1911 had to be brought in tune with Part IXA of the Constitution before 31st May, 1994.

Nagpur Municipal Corporation

Nagpur is administered by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) which is democratically elected civic governing body. Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) works with NMC and carries out works like development of the civic infrastructure and new urban areas on behalf of NMC. The city is divided in 10 zones which are in turn divided into 136 wards. Each ward is represented by a corporator, majority of whom are elected in local elections.

Surat Municipal Corporation

Surat Municipal Corporation is a local self government which came into being under the provisions of the Bombay Provincial Municipal Act, 1949 carries out all the obligatory & discretionary functions prescribed thereunder.
