Training on Presentation and Communication Skills

GIZ has conducted a training programme for the senior management of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd. (APIIC) on May 14, 2014 on “Presentation and Communication Skills”. The training was conducted by Ms Anita Stogel, GIZ’s international expert from Germany.

The training started with a discussion on the brand APIIC and goals of APIIC. This was an interactive session where participants were asked to share their thoughts on “Brand APIIC”. The three shortlisted best phrases are:

  • Business Catalyst
  • Quality
  • Transparency

Further, the goals of APIIC and what stragety they adopt to achieve these goals were discussed. Summarising the response from participants, the overall goal of APIIC is “to improve quality of life”, which includes:

  • Sustainable industrial development
  • Employment
  • Economic development
  • Socio-economic development

The afternoon session was on communication skills, where Ms Anita Stogel explained about the basics of communication skills, which includes the sender-received model and transactional analysis that talks about the behaviour of an individual as a child, adult or parent during communications. This was followed by presentation on negotiations.

The final session was group activtiy on strategies  to achieve the goals. This session covered the aspects of strategies that needs to be adopted to achieve the goals of APIIC. The final session was on feedback from the participants. The participants gave good feedback on the training programme.
